'Boyz Run the East' Story Behind the Design
In the summer of 1991 the American film Boyz N The Hood exploded onto the scene. The film follows the lives of three young males living in the Crenshaw ghetto of south central Los Angeles. Boys N The Hood played a significant role in the emergence of the gangster rap scene of the early 90s and made a global impact on pop culture. In 1991, the same year the film Boyz N The Hood was released, a young Dallas Cowboys team was on the brink of greatness. They put together a strong 11-5 campaign and a playoff win just 2 years removed from their 1-15 season.
The 90s would eventually become a significant decade in Dallas Cowboys History; the rise of three young men and eventual hall-of-famers would change the franchise forever. Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, Michael Irvin: The Triplets who would lead the Dallas Cowboys back to glory with 3 Super Bowl titles in a 4 year span. Our Boyz Run the East design pays tribute to a significant era in hip hop culture and a young team on the brink of greatness.
